Carers of people living with dementia meet monthly over lunch in a safe, friendly environment to share experiences and anxieties, provide support to each other, share information, make new friends, and relax. Carers say they learn from each other, understand better how dementia progresses and feel more confident in facing decisions required in the short term and which are likely to arise in the future. Carers may be partners, children or siblings.
Carers meet on the last Wednesday of each month from 12.15pm to 1.45pm. If you wish, you can bring the person you care for who will have lunch in a nearby space with some of our experienced volunteers.
Carer: ”I realised I was not alone, that there were others in similar situations as me.”
If you are interested in attending a carers’ group, or just coming along to see what it’s like, contact the dementia services co-ordinator on 0751 257 7866 marygarvey@totnescaring.org.uk
